Mandrel Bending Technical Data

Pipe

Mandrel bent pipe can achieve tighter curvature than section bent pipe. It’s commonly used as heating and cooling coils, ballards, roll bars and in complex, multi-bend shapes.

The table below shows the tightest curvature generally achievable. These figures are nominally based on 300 grade steel, and should be interpreted as indicative only.

Tube

Mandrel bent tube can achieve tighter curvature than section bent pipe. It’s commonly used as heating and cooling coils, bollards, roll bars and in complex, multi-bend shapes.

Tube differs from pipe in that it has thinner walls than pipe, so it’s lighter and can achieve a smoother finish.

The table below shows the tightest curvature generally achievable. These figures are nominally based on 300 grade steel, and should be interpreted as indicative only.
